Spatialytics is a Bronze sponsor of Geomatics 2011, THE Conference of the Geospatial industry in Quebec, returning every two years, organized by the Montreal Chapter of the CIG (Canadian Institute of Geomatics). The presence of Spatialytics among the exhibitors will be an opportunity to show the Open Source technologies and commercial solutions of the company. In addition to its offer GeoBI offering, Spatialytics will also represent its business partners for Quebec, solutions in BI and Geospatial (OpenGeo and GeoCat) will also be on display and available at the booth.

Spatialytics develops GeoBI solutions for the BI and Geospatial industries. But for the market of the Province of Québec, via partnerships, Spatialytics also offers BI and Geospatial solutions. We are announcing a new partnership in Geospatial with GeoCat BV, a company based in the Netherlands, well-known for its work around GeoNetwork, an Open Source catalog application to manage spatially referenced resources & metadata. More recently, GeoCat launched a unique product, GeoCat Bridge, establishing literally a « bridge » between GIS professionals and some Open Source web solutions. This is actually a module or extension for the ArcGIS desktop softwares from the Esri, which allows the publication of data and their metadata.

This first edition of S2LQ (Salon du Logiciel Libre du Québec) will take place on 6 and 7 December in Quebec (Laval University). This event is organized by the APELL (Association Professionnelle des Entreprises en Logiciels Libres) and Spatialytics is a member of this association. The opening of the salon should be marked Monday, December 6 by a speech in French from Richard Stallman, who launched the development of the GNU operating system (see www.gnu.org) in 1984. The title of his presentation is: “The Free Software Movement and the GNU/Linux Operating System, Free Software and Your Freedom.” The afternoon of Monday, featuring Nico Elema, the founding member of the Government Open Source Software Resource Center, which will deal with “Free/Open Source Software in government agencies worldwide.”

Following the recent announcement of a partnership between Spatialytics and OpenGeo for the resale of their commercial Open Source suite, the OpenGeo Suite – Enterprise Edition, this is now the opportunity to highlight the availability of the newest version 2.0 in Quebec.
